You can visit Peach’s Castle, swim in the moat, chase rabbits and more. The good old Mushroom Kingdom makes an appearance in Super Mario Odyssey and it’s certainly looking a little different than when it was on N64. Once you’ve beaten Bowser and watched the credits you’ll unlock the 15th world.

What self-respecting villain wouldn’t hold their kidnap wedding in such an exotic location. Here the gravity is low, but spirits are high. Can’t say that it suits him, he definitely does not have any honour. Looks like Bowser has decided to decorate his kingdom in a feudal Japanese style. How big is the boss? Let’s just say it’s massively enormously gigantic. Ruined KingdomĪ derelict castle leads upwards to a boss-fight. The water is lava and there are veggies everywhere. The Luncheon Kingdom is home to the fork people and a giant bird who loves stew. Remember? This world has lots of things to see (or sea?) and do and has one of the best boss fights. This world was featured in the Nintendo Direct when Mario was shirtless. This is where you can take Mario to sunbathe. What’s a Mario game without a snow world? Here’s where you’ll meet some adorable chubby seals who like to race and where you’ll take on a sub-boss. Fun fact, Pauline is the Mayor of New Donk City. This is where you’ll find New Donk City and regular sized people walking around. Everything in the jungle still wants to hurt you though, so that’s normal.
The Lost Kingdom is a strange rainforest swamp, except all the water is lava. This tiny world is home to one of the very first major boss fights. Be on the lookout for Pihrana Plants and the poison the spit everywhere while you’re there. That’s what awaits you in the Wooded Kingdom. Wooded KingdomĪ gorgeous forest tended by sentient watering cans. There are plenty of Power Moons to find, underwater caves to explore and creatures to capture. The Lake Kingdom is the first of Super Mario Odyssey’s water worlds. This desert is cold instead of hot and it looks like it’s Bowser’s fault. You’ll find fossils and maybe even a dinosaur or two. The Cascade Kingdom is a world lost in time. This world is the smallest in the game and is the first one you’ll get to explore. All-in-all there are 14 regular worlds and two special worlds in Super Mario Odyssey. Super Mario Odyssey‘s worlds don’t seem all that big in the beginning, but each one holds dozens of Power Moons, some easy to collect, others not so easy.
